Laser welding

Our laser welding system is the first of its type in Austria! With our system unique longitudinal axis of 7000 mm we do not only focus on batch production and processing of the materials, but also we use one of our main advantages – innovative laser welding technologies for special applications.

Laser technology enables us to weld very thin & very thick materials. There is no need to take care of the closed weld as the laser beam penetrates into the materials.

The biggest advantage of the laser welding is to bind together different types of materials. Even the combination of different solidity/thickness poses no difficulty to our machine.

Laser welding with minimum deformation of the material

One of the most important quality factors is minimized deformation of the material. Thanks to a very small heating area and very intensive electrolyte concentration we achieve minimum deformation of the material.

Our specialists have thoroughly studied the subject and are able & ready to fulfil any task set.

Challenge our experts with your tasks - we are ready to save your costs, to raise the quality of your products or just work a miracle for you!

Hybrid laser welding

Another technological innovation of the Seiwald company due the extension of the laser welding sphere is hybrid laser welding.

Hybrid laser welding is a combination of fully digital MIG/MAG welding and laser welding. This means assures fine gap coverage and closed MIG/MAG weld, on the other hand  it has all the advantages of the laser welding (concentrated ingress of heat, deep welding penetration and speed).

One of the most significant economical advantages comparing with common laser welding is the possibility of the jointing gap which occurs when covering the gap from 0.3 to 0.5 mm wide. By variation of the proportions of laser and MIG/MAG welding this means may adapt to various requirements. As an example: temporary switching off the laser in case of numerous weld beads with large gap coverage. For works with aluminium the hybrid laser appears to be more profitable especially when the tolerances of the construction elements and the preparatory expenses are too large for laser welding.

The long welding beads may demonstrate the great potential of this means. The speed of the welding, which surpasses the common MIG/MAG technology; reduced consumption of the welding wire despite the deep welding penetration; insignificant damage of the high-tensile steel structure due to minimal ingress of heat– these are only few of all the advantages.

Welding does not need to be hot

CMT means Cold Metal Transfer and is one of the peculiarities that we can offer to our clients. “Cold transfer” of metal is related to the low-energy transfer of the drop during the gas-shielded welding.

Up to 90 shifts of cold and hot phases are made every second and this decreases the thermal influence on the element. During the “contrast bath” the heat first affects metal then the drop flows into the welding bean. As the result we see better gap coverage, no need in smelting bath, deeper penetration, almost no drippings and less additional works.

CMT advantages are demonstrated in welding of fine high-tensile steel and aluminium plates, joints of thick and thin elements, joints of steel and aluminium elements or complex combinations welding. What used to be impossible is now possible with CMT. The process is suitable almost for all fields of application starting from automobile manufacturing and related industries, industrial engineering and pipeline construction to repair and service works.
